Now Is The Time For Hard Work

With competition season right around the corner it's time for everyone to step up their game if they plan to compete. Training for competition is a chance for everyone to fine tune their skills and put together a game plan. During this time we will be focusing on what you already know and improving on it. Remember right before a competition is not a good time to learn a bunch of new moves and try and implement them into your game. Stick with what you know and drill, drill, drill. Now is the time to put in the hard work so that when it comes to the competing part it will be easy.

Even if you are not competing, come support your teammates who are, and get in shape at the same time.

the Brazilian

Being a part of our competition team at last year's Skirmish was truly one of the most fun and memorable days of my life. And I don't need to tell you guys how much training for tournaments has changed my jiu jitsu and my life.

I really encourage everyone who plans on competing this fall to start doing some extra cardio and ab work now. Even if it's 20 minutes of jogging 3-4 times a week and a few situps a day, whatever you do will pay off when the time comes to face your opponent on the mats...
